Welcome to the 10th Messiah Choir Festival from April 30th to May 3rd, 2020 in Salzburg!
Thursday April 30th, 2020
Individual arrival in Salzburg and check-in to your accommodation.
18.00 h: 1st Messiah choir rehearsal with choir and piano; conducted by: Jan S. Bechtold (duration 2 hours)
20.15 h: Singer's Meeting (optional) - a leisurely get-together for all singers
Overnight at booked accommodation.
Friday May 1st, 2019
Buffet breakfast
10.00h 2 h walking sightseeing tour with your licensed guide.
Time at leisure.
17.00 h: 2nd Messiah choir rehearsal with choir, piano and orchestra; conducted by Jan S. Bechtold (duration 2 hours)
19.00 h: Musical Walk/Evening Concert in Salzburg
The participating choirs present themselves; 10 minutes per choir.
Compulsory common piece: G.F. Handel "Hallelujah" from Messiah
20.30 h: Singer's Meeting (optional) - a leisurely get-together for all singers.
Overnight at booked accommodation.
Saturday May 2nd, 2020
Buffet breakfast
10.00 h: Messiah dress rehearsal - choir, soloists and orchestra; conducted by Jan S. Bechtold (duration approx. 3 hours)
Time at leisure.
Stage rehearsal.
19.00 h: 10th Messiah Festive Concert
Performance of the Leonard Bernstein arrangement (1956) with singers from all over the world, soloists and the chamber orchestra of the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg; conducted by Jan
S. Bechtold.
22.15 h: Messiah Choir Festival closing party - a joyful get together for all participants incl. a light dinner.
Overnight at booked accommodation.
Sunday May 3rd, 2020
After breakfast individual departure or onward journey.
We will be happy to assist you in planning your onward journey, for example to Vienna, Prague, Bratislava, Munich, etc.
